NHS Property Services enables excellent patient care by acting as a trusted advisor to the NHS and by providing the best estate solutions.
We manage 2,700 properties with 6,300 customers across England, which accounts for approximately 10% of the total NHS estate. Our properties range from listed buildings to new integrated care centres and include hospitals, GP practices and offices.
Partnering with customers to enable excellent patient care
We partner with Integrated Care Boards and local NHS organisations to help them plan and manage their estates to unlock greater value and ensure every patient can get the care they need in the right place and space for them.
Our 6,000 colleagues have expertise in every area of estates and facilities management within the NHS.
Customers can benefit from an end-to-end service from strategy and town planning to property management and environmental services and much more.
Being part of the NHS, we work on a cost-recovery basis. We reinvest all surplus funds back into the NHS to tackle the biggest estates challenges including space utilisation, quality and access.
Supporting the NHS Long Term Plan
Since NHS Property Services was established in 2013, our portfolio has evolved to meet changing models of care as properties must deliver much more than in the past.
We are constantly looking for ways to innovate and collaborate with our NHS colleagues locally, regionally and nationally to support the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan and help the NHS transform.
Since forming in 2013, we have...
capital investment to improve the NHS estate
NHS Open Space rooms available to book
raised for the NHS through disposal of surplus properties
social prescribing hubs to improve community wellbeing
reduction in our carbon footprint since 2019
hidden heroes keeping buildings in working order
Ten years of NHSPS
In 2023, NHS Property Services is celebrating 10 years of serving patients, customers and local communities with facilities management, property expertise and transformation of the NHS estate across England.
To celebrate the milestone birthday, colleages from across NHSPS - including one member of the team with a staggering 50 years of NHS service - have been featured in a short film highlighting some of the exemplary work they deliver.
