QVMH needed a new X-ray facility, but to accommodate the new machinery the existing space needed to be extensively re-modelled. NHS Property Services worked with the radiology team to decide on the specifications of the machine required and the budget for the project delivery. A presentation of the costs and benefits was made to the hospital's League of Friends, who approved the funding required, securing the sum of £357,000.
During the 12-week term of the project, we ensured there was a temporary mobile X-ray service on site to maintain continuity of the service.
The new digital X-ray facility opened in December 2018, enabling better quality imaging with a faster turnaround and the ability to see a greater variety of patients.
