Major refurbishments completed at Camberley Health Centre. NHSPS and NHS Frimley ICB collaborated on improvements to enhance service for patients and the wider community. The works have maximised space to increase GPs and Primary Care Network services onsite.
Camberley Health Centre has just undergone comprehensive improvements, resulting in increased space, whilst further allowing a greater range of Primary care services to be offered to the community.
NHSPS led the charge with external enhancements, including improvements to paving, disabled parking bays, CCTV, lighting and improvements to the front entrance. The internal upgrades, funded by the ICB, focused on refurbishing half of the ground floor, with a redesign of the layout to make more efficient and effective use of the available space.
This renovation initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize the health centre’s infrastructure and expand its capacity to deliver vital healthcare services to the community. The refurbishment will enable the current PC GP practice to increase its services while accommodating greater use of the building.
Dr Sarah Oakes, a GP Partner at the practice, said: “This is all fantastic news for our local communities and it’s an exciting time for both patients and staff at Camberley Health Centre. The work on the inside of the centre has given us more room, which will allow us to see more patients face-to-face in a modern setting. Now we have modern facilities in which we can provide modern healthcare services and we also have more scope to improve not only the health of our current patient population but also the health of the growing population and to meet the increasing demand for primary care services.”
David Lloyd, NHSPS Senior Estates Manager, said: “We are excited about the prospect of a revitalized Camberley Health Centre that will better serve the needs of that community. The refurbishment by both the ICB and NHSPS will enable us to continue enhancing patient care, whilst also improving building access."
Richard Chapman, CFO at NHS Frimley, said: “Primary care is where the vast majority of patient journeys begin within the health service and it’s crucial that GPs and their teams have the right facilities to be able to provide the best possible service to their patients. We’re committed to supporting GP practices to modernise, improve and expand to be able to support their communities, both now and into the future.”
The completion of these works marks a significant milestone in the journey towards a modern, efficient and patient-centric healthcare facility in Camberley.
