Climate change has been widely recognised as one of the greatest threats to public health globally and nationally. As owners of 10% of the NHS estate, we play a key role in reducing emissions, helping the NHS adapt to climate change and building healthier communities.
This Green Plan is our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable healthcare, enabling the NHS to deliver excellent patient care now and in the future.
While we are proud of our achievements so far there is still so much more needed to be undertaken together and as individuals. We will work with colleagues, customers, local communities and partners to lay the foundations for a greener, healthier and more equitable future.
